dressing

  • 3 tbspsoy sauce, gluten-free if needed
  • 1 tbsprice vinegar
  • 1 tspsesame oil
  • 1 tspfresh ginger, grated
  • 1 clovegarlic, minced

garnish

  • 2 pcsscallion, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 tspred chili flakes(optional)

The method

Step by step

    Carefully remove the silken tofu from its package and drain any liquid.

    Cook’s note: Be gentle, silken tofu is very delicate.

    Place the tofu on a heatproof plate that fits inside your steamer basket.

    Steam the tofu for 5 minutes over simmering water, until heated through.

    While the tofu steams, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, fresh ginger, and garlic in a small bowl to make the dressing.

    Carefully remove the hot tofu from the steamer and discard any accumulated water on the plate.
